Our Vista Eco Classroom
Our Vista eco-classrooms, thoughtfully situated within a peaceful natural setting, are designed to provide students with an optimal environment for focused, engaged learning. In these outdoor classrooms, children benefit from spaces intentionally structured to support hands-on exploration, inquiry-based learning, and real-time observation of natural systems.
Throughout the year, students apply core academic concepts—literacy, numeracy, and science—within the context of the changing landscape. Autumn’s colorful leaves become materials for sorting, patterning, and storytelling; spring’s emerging mushrooms offer opportunities for classification, research, and documentation. Every activity is carefully guided by proven educational methods, including project-based learning, place-based education, and multi-sensory literacy instruction rooted in approaches like Orton-Gillingham and Heggerty.
This site, like all Wild Wander locations, is chosen with a commitment to student safety and ecological stewardship. In this setting, children practice critical thinking, develop language and problem-solving skills, and build confidence through consistent, meaningful interaction with their natural surroundings—laying a strong foundation for academic success and personal growth.
